Staff

St. Joseph Institute for the Deaf - Indianapolis is staffed by caring professionals committed to helping deaf children pursue the dream of spoken language. All of our teachers and speech pathologists are degreed with specialized training in auditory-oral techniques. Director Teri Ouellette has held positions in teaching, family education/counseling, school consulting, administration, and business. Teri holds degrees in Oral Education of the Hearing Impaired and Early Childhood Special Education from Eastern Michigan University and the University of Kentucky. She is fully licensed in infant/preschool and elementary education (both regular and D/HH education) and holds CED certification at the preschool and elementary levels. In addition, she has taught at the university level, helped to develop a number of curricula, and has been a contributing author for college texts.
