A cochlear implant is a complex device that helps the ear regain
some sense of hearing. After the implant is in place, much needs
to be accomplished to maximize the performance. Our professional
staff utilizes specialized techniques in teaching cochlear implant
wearers appropriate listening skills. We also train them to discern
when their implant is not working correctly and to "speak up" and
let a parent or teacher know if they are experiencing a problem.
We also work in close concert with area cochlear implant teams to
provide them with valuable feedback they can utilize in making appropriate
adjustments to the implant.
